London based contemporary artist Michaela Yearwood-Dan graduated with a BA in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton in 2016, before presenting her first solo exhibition at Tiwani Contemporary in 2019.
Specialising in painting and ceramics, Yearwood-Dan’s work is influenced by themes of Blackness, queerness and femininity, and has found a particularly receptive audience in the US, where her work is shown in the Dallas Museum of Art and Miami's Institute of Contemporary Art. In 2024 she designed a limited edition Dior handbag for the Lady Dior Art Project, in the company of acclaimed artists Mickalene Thomas, Zadie Xa, and Gilbert & George, and signed to the roster of international art gallery Hauser & Wirth, becoming one of their youngest signed artists. Her debut exhibition at Hauser & Wirth's London gallery opens in May 2025.
